58 Young Aspiring Police Officers Begin Training in Ennepe-Ruhr-Kreis

The police force of Ennepe-Ruhr-Kreis has sent their warmest wishes to 58 young individuals who have embarked on a journey towards a career in the police service. This group, which includes 19 girls and 39 boys, started their course at the Police Vocational School in Hagen on Monday, 25th August 2025.

Since its inception in 2025, the Police Vocational School has received 3,645 applications for the current year's course. The school, which is not exclusive to Hagen, also takes place in other locations. It is a collaboration between the Police Vocational School, vocational schools in Bochum and Halver, and various police authorities in Bochum, Märkischer Kreis, Ennepe-Ruhr-Kreis, Olpe, and Siegen.

The course is designed specifically for young people with a lower secondary school leaving certificate, offering a combination of theoretical and practical training. The students will receive practical insights into the daily work of the participating police authorities as part of their training.

The police authorities in Ennepe-Ruhr-Kreis are now responsible for the training leadership of the course. The age range of the selected students is between 14 and 30 years old. The training is taking place in Hagen and other locations.

The University of Applied Sciences South Westphalia in Hagen was the venue for the welcome event, which was hosted by the police in Hagen. The event also saw the participation of social services, the youth welfare office, and the Institute 3L, which supports education and social services in Saxony.

Upon completion of the course, graduates will receive a full university entrance qualification, opening up the opportunity to study at the University of Applied Sciences for Police and Public Administration North Rhine-Westphalia. The police of Ennepe-Ruhr-Kreis send their best wishes to their eight assigned graduates on their way into the police service.

The police in Hagen wish all participants success in starting their training, and they, along with other authorities, will accompany the students on their training journey.
